CEA is a carcinoembryonic antigen produced in the fetal intestine. It is also expressed at very low levels in the normal mucosal epithelium of the adult colon and other tissues. It is found in gastrointestinal adenocarcinoma (including pancreas), lung adenocarcinoma and medullary thyroid carcinoma. Medium to high expression. It is mainly used to label epithelial tumors, especially adenocarcinomas of glandular epithelial origin.
