Cytokeratin 6 (CK6) Antibody (IHC)

Keratins 6 and 16 (also known as hyperprolinosis-related proteins) are expressed in rapidly metabolizing keratinocytes in the upper basal zone. Keratin 6 is present in hair follicles and the upper basal cells of various stratified epithelia in the body. In normal and hyperprolinosis conditions, damage to the epidermis leads to the activation of keratinocytes expressing keratins 6 and 16. Keratin 6 is highly expressed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and is significantly associated with cancer differentiation.
