AMA Antibody (IHC)

Anti-mitochondria antibody (anti-Mitochondria Antibody, AMA) clone MTC02 only recognizes a 60kda non-glycosylated protein component in human cell mitochondria. It reacts specifically with human cells, including neurons and embryonic stem cells. In mitochondrial encephalomyopathy, a large number of abnormal mitochondria accumulate in the vascular smooth muscle, endothelial cells and nerve cells in the lesion area, and the expression of AMA is increased, which is helpful for the diagnosis of mitochondrial encephalomyopathy. At the same time, the antibody can also be used to measure the mitochondrial content of tumor cells, which plays a certain role in assessing the prognosis of tumors.
