PSA is a 33kDa glycoprotein synthesized by prostate epithelial cells. As a specific marker of prostate tissue, it is mainly used in the research of prostate cancer and metastatic prostate cancer. PSA cannot be used to study benign and malignant prostate diseases, but the vast majority of prostatic hyperplasia epithelia also show positive expression.
