PSMA Antibody (IHC)

PSMA is a 110kDa type II transmembrane protein. The gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 11q. It is expressed in normal prostate epithelium and prostate tumor cells, and its expression is up-regulated in tumor cells. Some studies believe that PSMA is involved in the regulation of cell migration during the development of prostate cancer. PSMA is also expressed in some other tissues, such as benign epithelial cells in breast, duodenum, and kidney tissues. In prostate cancer, PSMA expression is positively correlated with tumor grade and the presence of hormone resistance. Strong expression of PSMA means a higher recurrence rate, and there is no significant correlation with Ki-67. PSMA is now considered to be one of the markers of prostate cancer.
