S100P Antibody (IHC)

S100P is a member of the S100 protein family. It is abnormally expressed in tumors and plays an important role in tumor growth, proliferation, invasion and metastasis through various signaling pathways. S100P was first discovered to be highly expressed in placental tissue and highly expressed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Expressed but not expressed in benign pancreatic ducts and acinar glands. S100P has been reported to be expressed in all infiltrative components of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms, including neural, lymph node, and microinvasions. 90% of primary cancer bile duct biopsies are strongly S100P positive, while benign biopsies are S100P negative. Therefore, in bile duct biopsy specimens, S100P can help us distinguish carcinoma from reactive epithelial changes. S100P is also one of the specific markers for urothelial cancer.
