INI-1 Antibody (IHC)

The INI-1 gene encodes a HSWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex protein with unknown function, which is prone to mutations and deletions in malignant rhabdoid tumors (MRT). The overall survival of MRT is much lower than that of medulloblastoma and primitive neuroectodermal tumor. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish MRT from medulloblastoma, primitive neuroma and primitive neuroectodermal tumor. INI-1 expression is usually lost in MRT, whereas the vast majority of medulloblastomas and primitive ectodermal tumors express INI-1. Epithelioid sarcomas in soft tissue often show rhabdoid features histologically and neither expresses INI-1, making it sometimes difficult to differentiate between the two. However, epithelioid sarcomas are positive for CD34 and β-catenin and negative for both on MRT.
