ALK (anaplastic lymphoma kinase, CD246) is a tyrosine kinase transmembrane receptor with a molecular weight of 200KDa. The ALK gene was discovered in CD30+ anaplastic large cell lymphoma cases at the end of 1980. Its function is related to the balance (2;5) (p23;q35) chromosomal translocation. If the gene translocation occurs, the tumor cells will produce a NPM. -ALK hybrid protein (also known as p80). A small number of cells in normal tissues express ALK, such as brain glial cells, neuronal cells, etc. In tumor cases, literature shows that ALK is expressed in anaplastic large cell lymphoma, inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, leiomyoma, and lung adenocarcinoma.
