CA IX Antibody (IHC)

Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a transmembrane protein on the cell surface and is mainly distributed in the gastrointestinal tract and gallbladder. Negative in normal colonic epithelium but positive in adenocarcinoma. In breast tumors, CAIX expression also indicates tumor malignancy. The expression of CAIX is negative in normal kidney, renal chromophobe cell carcinoma and renal oncocytoma, but it is positive in clear cell renal cell carcinoma, so it can be used for the differential diagnosis of renal tumors. CAIX is also expressed in other epithelial tumors such as esophageal cancer, lung cancer, renal cancer, cervical cancer, non-small cell lung cancer and other tissues.
