CAM5.2 is a low molecular weight cytokeratin that serves as a broad-spectrum marker for epithelial monolayers and is localized in the cytoplasm. It is reported that CAM5.2 has stronger expression on glandular epithelium than stratified squamous epithelium, but no or low expression on squamous epithelium and urothelium. Therefore, it is one of the most commonly used markers for glandular epithelium and various adenocarcinomas.
