C3c Antibody (IHC)

Immune complexes can activate complement through the classical pathway and the alternative pathway to cause allergic reactions and damage to glomerular tissue. In glomerular diseases, complement is mostly activated through the alternative pathway, and a few are activated through the classical pathway. Complement antibodies commonly used in renal biopsy are C3, C4, C1q, etc. C3 is a central complement in the human complement system. It reacts with and deposits C3 in the glomerulus in kidney biopsy, and is characteristically deposited on the capillary wall outside the glomerulus. C3 is expressed in glomerulonephritis and otosclerosis. It is mainly used to detect the types of immune complexes in glomerulonephritis and helps in the classification of glomerulonephritis.
