CD22 Antibody (IHC)

CD22 is a type I membrane-integrated glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 130-140KD. It is expressed in the cytoplasm and membrane of B lymphocytes. The CD22 antigen appears in the early stages of B lymphocyte differentiation, at the same stage as the CD19 antigen. Unlike other B cell markers, CD22 membrane expression is restricted to late stages of differentiation, including between mature B cells (CD22+) and plasma cells (CD22-). In hairy cell leukemia, CD22 is strongly expressed. CD22 has two isomers, existing mainly as a β monomer, but it is also found as a heterodimer composed of a β monomer and a shorter α monomer.
