CD24 is a double-chain glycosylphosphatidylfiberitol (GPI) glycoprotein that is expressed at multiple stages of B cell development, including from pre-B cells in the bone marrow to differentiated mature B cells, all of which are positive for immunoglobulin on the surface of B cells. Plasma cells express little or no expression. CD24 can also be used as a marker for B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
