HIF-1α Antibody (IHC)

HIF-1α upregulates several genes to promote survival in hypoxic environments. These important regulatory genes (erythropoietin, nitric oxide synthase, heme oxygenase and glucose transporter) together with vascular growth factors play an important role in homeostasis under hypoxic conditions. Studies have confirmed that tumors promote tumor metastasis by inducing MET overexpression under hypoxic conditions. The pathogenesis of hypoxic tumors promoting metastasis is not very clear. It is generally believed that HIF-1α is a very critical mediator in the cell’s response to hypoxia. It binds to the promoter of MET and increases the expression of MET. Overexpression of MET in breast cancer is associated with tumor metastasis and poor prognosis.
