Multiple myeloma oncoprotein (MUM1) is a protein with a molecular weight of 50kDa. It is a lymphoid-specific transcription factor encoded by the MUM1 gene. It is a member of the interferon regulatory factor (IRF) family, which can regulate the proliferation and differentiation of B cells and activate T lymphocytes. Expressed in multiple myeloma, lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma, and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, it can be used as a histogenesis-derived immunophenotypic marker for B-cell lymphoma. It is a useful immunophenotypic marker for malignant lymphoma and only Restricted expression to lymphocytes and melanocytes. Now it is mainly used in the classification and identification of malignant lymphoma.
