Pax-8 Antibody (IHC)

The proteins encoded by the Pax gene family are a group of extremely important transcriptional regulators that play an important role in organ formation during embryonic development. Pax-8 is expressed in normal thyroid and related tumors, non-ciliated mucinous cells of fallopian tubes and simple ovarian cysts, but is not expressed in normal ovarian surface epithelial cells. Pax-9 is highly expressed in ovarian serous cell carcinoma but almost not expressed in ovarian mucinous cell carcinoma. The expression profile of Pax-8 in renal tumors is similar to Pax-2, and the expression rate is higher than that of the latter, but it is not expressed in normal lungs and lung cancer. Pax-8 is combined with organ system-specific markers (such as Uroplakin III, Mammaglobin and TTF-1) to find the primary focus of metastatic cancer of unknown primary site or to identify certain epithelial tumors.
