The WT1 gene is located on chromosome 11p13, and its encoded protein is mainly expressed in genitourinary tract tissues of mesodermal origin, mesothelial tissue, benign and malignant mesothelioma, Wilm’s tumor, and desmoplastic small round cell tumor. (DSRCT) and some leukemias. This antibody can be used to differentiate between desmoplastic small round cell tumors (WT1 positive) and Ewing sarcoma or primitive neuroectodermal tumors.
