CD61 is a 105KDa membrane glycoprotein expressed on platelets, megakaryocytes, osteoclasts and vascular endothelial cells. CD61 can react with integrin β3, which is linked to glycoprotein lla (CD41) to form a CD41/CD61 complex (GP llb/llla) to regulate platelet adhesion and aggregation. CD61 is mainly used to identify platelets and their precursor cells, and can be used for the diagnosis of megakaryoblastic leukemia.
