In normal tissues, CK5/6 is mainly expressed in squamous epithelium, duct epithelial basal cells, myoepithelial cells and mesothelial cells, while expression in glandular epithelium is negative. This antibody is mainly used for the differential diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, mesothelioma and adenocarcinoma, and can also be used to differentiate between benign and malignant ductal epithelial hyperplasia.
